The Union 3R35 Automatic Dead Latch, also known under the Chubb brand. Which can also be used as an escape latch. The latch is force resistant, as well as having anti-pick and anti-saw security features. When closed, the door is secured by an automatic deadlocking action on the latch, preventing slipping. The Union 3R35 Automatic Dead Latch can be used as a Mortise Deadlocking Latch or the 3R35X can be used as a high security fire escape latch, which cannot be double locked.

Mechanism-5 Detainer. Case Size-80mm. Case Finish-Silver. Forend Finish-Brass or Satin Chrome. Keys Supplied-2. Keyed Alike and mastered. Differs-25,000 Handing-Right and left hand. Fire escape compatible.
This Union 3R35 Detainer Mortise Lock is supplied by Keys-Locks-Padlock as a Commercial or Domestic Mortise locking latch.
It is a high security 5 Detainer lock which Dead latches, when the door is closed, it will work with a handle from the inside and a key from the outside,but will also lock with a key from the inside so that the handle will not open it.
The 5 Detainer lock, with slam action locking and auto deadlocking latch bolt, is excellent security for entrances and fire escape doors, and can be used both for Commercial or Domestic use.
It uses a handle, (separate item) on the inside allowing access from outside by key only, the latch can be held back by the snib, on the handle, from the inside, if the door needs to be left in the open position.
The Chubb latch can be deadlocked from inside or outside, by key, this prevents the handle being operated from inside, when a glass panel
is broken in the door.
This Lock can be modified to use as a fire escape lock by removing the facility to lock the handle, this is then classified as a 3R35X.
The Union Lock can be keyed alike with other Detainer mortise lock, example a 3G110 or 3K70.
The latch is opened by key from either side and by lever handle from inside.
The lock is automatically dead latched when closed.
The 3R35 mortise dead locking latch is ideal for heavy traffic use where security is needed.
